Terms of Service

Welcome to AuraBook. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and AuraBook (“AuraBook,” “we,” “us”) and govern your use of the AuraBook app and services. By creating an account or using AuraBook, you agree to these Terms.
1. What AuraBook is (and isn’t)
AuraBook is a marketplace platform that connects clients with independent service providers — barbers, stylists, nail techs, detailers, tattoo artists, and other professionals. Providers on AuraBook are independent businesses, not employees or agents of AuraBook. We don’t perform the services, set their prices, or supervise their work. The service agreement for any appointment is between you and the provider.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your account credentials secure, and remain responsible for activity under your account. Providers must have the legal right to offer their listed services, including any required licenses or permits.
3. Bookings, deposits & cancellations
When you book an appointment, you’re making a commitment to that provider. Providers may require a deposit at booking, shown before you confirm. Each provider sets a free-cancellation window; cancelling inside that window, a late cancellation, may forfeit your deposit as disclosed in the app. Providers may accept, decline, or cancel booking requests. If a provider cancels, amounts you paid for that appointment will be refunded. Repeated no-shows or abusive behavior may result in account suspension.
4. Payments
Card and Apple Pay payments are processed by Stripe. By paying through AuraBook you also agree to Stripe’s terms. Some appointments may be payable in person, or “pay in store,” at the provider’s discretion. Prices, tips, and taxes are shown before you confirm a payment. Providers receive payouts through Stripe Connect and are responsible for their own taxes; Stripe issues applicable tax forms directly to eligible providers. AuraBook may charge providers a platform commission on payments processed through the app, disclosed to providers in the app.
5. AuraPro subscription
AuraPro is an optional monthly subscription for providers, billed through your Apple ID, that unlocks features such as the Tax Center, boosted placement, and advanced analytics. It auto-renews monthly until cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Subscriptions. Apple handles billing, taxes, and refunds for subscriptions.
6. AuraPoints & rewards
Clients may earn AuraPoints on completed appointments at participating providers and redeem them for rewards those providers offer. AuraPoints have no cash value, aren’t transferable, and can’t be sold. Redeemed rewards apply to a future booking as described in the app, one reward per booking. Providers control their own loyalty programs and may change or end them. We may adjust points earned through error or abuse.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you post — photos, reviews, bios, and messages. You grant AuraBook a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display that content for the purpose of operating the service, such as showing a provider’s gallery or a client’s review to other users. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences from real appointments. Fake, paid-for, or retaliatory reviews may be removed. You’re responsible for having the rights to anything you upload.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users; post unlawful, misleading, or infringing content; use AuraBook to arrange illegal services; circumvent the platform to avoid fees on bookings initiated through AuraBook; scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the app or its security; or create accounts with false identities or impersonate others. The app includes tools to block and report users and businesses. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
9. Termination
You can delete your account anytime in the app: Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk for other users, or are required to be removed by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, such as limitations of liability, survive.
10. Disclaimers
AuraBook is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We don’t guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or timeliness of any provider’s services, and we’re not responsible for the conduct of users on or off the platform. Use good judgment when meeting anyone from the app.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AuraBook will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid to AuraBook in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold AuraBook harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the service, your services as a provider, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Apple App Store
These Terms are between you and AuraBook, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app and isn’t responsible for addressing any claims relating to it. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Dakota, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in North Dakota, unless applicable law gives you the right to another venue.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of AuraBook after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
